ANDERSON, Florece McCurdy

ANDERSON, Florece McCurdy, age 82, of Dayton passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Florece was born in Laurel, Mississippi on February 23, 1935. She graduated from Dunbar High School class of 1953, and earned a typing certificate from Miami Jacobs Junior College in 1954. She was employed as a key punch operator at Wright Patterson Air Force Base from 1956 to 1972, electing to care for her family over continuing her career. Although raised attending Mt Enon Baptist Church, she was a current member of Restored Life Ministries in Springfield, Ohio. Florece is preceded in death by her parents, Joanna and William McCurdy, Sr.; husband, James A. Anderson; son, stillborn; brothers, William McCurdy, Jr. and James E. McCurdy, Sr.; sister-in-law, Janice McCurdy; brother-in-law David (Brenda) Anderson. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Keisha T. Anderson; brother, Tommie McCurdy; sisters, Pearl (Charles, Sr.) Butcher, Gail Bilberry, Cherlyn Smith, Donna White, and Marlena McCurdy; brothers-in-law, Charles Bilberry, Roger Smith, Dwight (Geri) Anderson; sister-in-law Diane Costner; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Memorial service was held Saturday, January 6, 12pm at Restored Life Ministries, 1117 Innisfallen Ave. Springfield, OH 45506. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made in the name of Florece M. Anderson to the Gem City Market Capital Campaign Fund #8014, at the Dayton Foundation.
