BROWN, Maurice Steven  -
Maurice Steven Brown, age 60 of Dayton departed April 25, 2017. He attended Jefferson Township High School and graduated in 1975. He played drums in the High School Band. Maurice attended the University of Cincinnati and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served four years and one year in the reserve. After the Air Force stint, he went to Hollywood, California and worked as a Metallurgist. While living in California, he was involved in music, especially playing the drums, then a little piano and guitar at various functions. He loved music and performed alongside bands like the Ohio Players and Slave. He returned to Dayton in 1999 and worked at a few places around Dayton and did volunteer work for different organizations. He was baptized as a young boy at Corinthian Baptist Church and attended Sunday School Class 27. He would also attend other churches in the community and played drums for them. He loved the Lord. He was heard by a neighbor in the area at the time crying out to JESUS when he was attacked. He was preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides and several uncles and aunts. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Carolyn Brown, father, Merther Brown, Jr., siblings Angela Brown Fields (Donnie) of Rockwall, Texas, David Brown (Dahalia) of Matthews, North Carolina), Jermaine Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, Jasmine Cooks Brown (niece), Jeffery Savage (nephew), and Shyla C. Brown (niece) and many cousins, friends and relatives. Funeral service 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Corinthian Baptist Church. Family will receive friends 12-1PM at the church. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
