FOSTER, Rosa Lee Henderson, age 99 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Wednesday Dec 6, 2017 at the Friendship Village Nursing Home. She was born in Diaz, Arkansas. She was the only daughter of the late Joseph and Estella Jackson. Rosa moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1945 and worked many jobs. She joined an all women’s quartet group named The Morning Stars of Dayton, Ohio. She was the little one with the deepest voice. The Morning Stars sang acapella for over 60 years. Rosa worked and retired from Miami Valley Hospital with over 25 years of service. She worked as a dietitian and was noted as the first black supervisor. For fun, she loved to stay busy playing bingo, spending time at the Ellison Senior Citizen Center, and The Martin Luther Community, where she resided before moving to Friendship Village Nursing home. Preceding her in death; her parents, husbands Charles H. Foster, Nolan Henderson Sr. and devoted niece Madlyn H. Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memories devoted nieces Roslyn Hayes, and Toni Shaw Frost. Stepdaughters, Debra Bush (William), and Roberta Foster; The Foster, Frost, Mosley, Brown, Hayes and Henderson families, The Morning Stars Sister’s in Christ, Heaven’s Unlimited, special friend and bingo buddy Evelyn Williams and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 11, 2017 at H. H. Roberts Mortuary, 38 S. Gettysburg Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45417. Family will receive visitors starting at 10 am.
