Zella M. Goines lived a vibrant life to the age of 100. She departed this life on Monday, December 4, 2017. She was the second of two children born to the union of Stewart and Inez Goines in Springfield, Ohio.
A former resident of New York, where she worked for many years as a professional seamstress. She loved and wore beautiful fashions.
Zella was a member of First Wesleyan Church for many years. She later united with The Way of the Cross Gospel Ministries, where she was honored for her local community contributions.
She was a loving, beautiful, elegant and vivacious lady. Her mind was sharp and she loved telling stories of family, local and national history. She dearly loved her family and her network of friends.
She, also, was a great lover of music, especially jazz and an avid lover of flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents Stewart and Inez Goines, her sister, Constance L. Hall, cousins, Wilberta (Alden G.) Stewart.
She leaves to cherish her memory cousins and family: Thomas Yates and Family, Cincinnati, Ohio; Barbara A. (Robert) Bostick, Myron A.(Tiffany) Stewart, Annie Pearl Barnett, Albert J. (Teressa) Barnett, Cheryl and Lillian Barnett, all of Dayton, Ohio, Sylvia S. Stewart, Chicago, IL; Additionally there are numerous maternally related Parsons Family survivors; godchildren, Rauland (Margaretta) Pollard; special friends: Joseph (Linda) Witherspoon, Corrine Herring, Joyce Frazier, Mary Ellington; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Woodland Mausoleum Chapel. Reverend Sheila D. Jones officiating.
