MINOR, Anna (Jean) L.
Our dear mother, granny, auntie, cousin, neighbor and friend Anna (Jean) L. Minor passed from labor to reward on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in her new home in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She began her earthy existence on Sunday, July 21, 1935 in Lexington, Kentucky.
A native of Lexington, Kentucky Anna grew up with her parents Horace and Beatrice Pemberton and three-siblings (Mary Madden, Horace Pemberton and Edward Pemberton).  She graduated from Dunbar High School and went on to continue her education at the West Kentucky Business School.  Anna ventured out and decided to head north and moved to Dayton, Ohio.  While in Dayton, she met her soon to be husband Charles A. Minor.
On April 16, 1955 she united in marriage to Charles Augustus Minor of Huntington, West Virginia and to this union they were blessed with their treasured two daughters, Danelle Ann and Donna Kaye.
Anna worked for 31 years and retired from Wright-Patt Air Force Base as a budget analyst.  She enjoyed her work and made lifelong friendships with co-workers that turned into friends!  She loved to travel, shop and enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends.
Anna was a good and faithful servant at Greater Allen A.M.E. Church.  During her 30+ years at Greater Allen she has been a member of the Courtesy Club and Stewardess Board #2.  She loved her church and church family.    
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Charles Minor, her parents and her siblings.  She leaves to cherish her spirit her loving and devoted daughters Danelle (Derrick) Carter and Donna Minor both of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren Jordan and Loren Gaston and Devin Carter; two sisters in law Frances and Sandra Pemberton; extended family Robert (Marjorie) Day; the Norwood’s and a dedicated care taker Sharon Murphy.  She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  She will be greatly missed by her special friends Kenora Davis, Minnie Ruffin, Joyce Chavers, Ophelia Williams and Marva Moore and her special neighborhood family “the Shoop Avenue crew “Nancye Donaldson and Arlena Smith.
Services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Greater Allen A.M.E. Church 1620 W. 5th Street Dayton, OH 45402.  Visitation will begin at 10am and funeral service at 11am.  The interment will occur at Dayton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations be made to Greater Allen A.M.E.  Church in memory of Anna L. Minor.  The address is 1620 W. 5th Street Dayton, OH 45402.
