Pastor Henry Essick II of Centerville, Ohio, departed this life Monday July 15th, 2019. Pastor Henry Essick II was born January 1, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio, to Henry and Thelma Allison Essick. He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Deborah Payne Essick; daughter, Camille Essick, son Henry Branden Essick and Brother, Elder Gregory (Vanita) Essick, and two grandchildren AzReail Essick and Henry Branden, IV, and beloved father-in-law Grafton S. Payne II. Niece and nephew, Shanan T. Essick and Gregory A. Essick Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and mother-in-law Bernice Payne (who considered him a son).
Henry graduated from Stivers High School, and attended Aenon Bible College. He served in the United State Air Force, during The Vietnam War Era. He spent time serving both stateside and in the German Theater of Operations.
Henry worked many years as a Professional Sales Agent. Henry’s occupation was more than selling cars. It was about building relationships and touching lives. Along with his positive attitude and genuine enjoyment of his work. It is really the extra care for his customers that set Henry apart.
Henry’s saying was “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care!”
Henry was the Pastor of International Christian Church of Centerville, Ohio. He was a visiting chaplain at Miami Valley and Good Samaritan Hospitals. He also volunteered as a Chaplain at Montgomery County Criminal Justice System.
