Ms. Ottie L. Ivy-Finley, also known as Tootsie was born to Rev. Harvey and Rose M. Ivy on November 26, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio. She departed this life on January 6, 2020.
She was educated in the Dayton Public School system and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1958. She retired from General Motors (Delco Moraine Division) after 30 years of service. She was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at Christ Temple Apostolic Church in 1992 under the pastorate of the late Elder Andrew Lofton.
Ottie was united in marriage to Willie Finley, Sr. for seventeen years and to this union was born four children.
She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who loved her family and opened her doors to many with a sweet smile that would light up a room. She also had a gift for caring for others and loved to shop. She was an avid reader who enjoyed a quality book. She also found joy in crafts and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Terrell D. Finley; siblings: Harvey Jr., John, Wayman and Louie Ivy.
Left to cherish precious memories: Daughter: Twila (Donald) Edwards, Sons: Willie Finley, Jr., Trinston (Jeanette) Finley and Deandra Finley; seven grandchildren: Nyrobe (Tanisha) Wood and Sheileda Anthony, Middletown, OH; Paris Walton, Marietta, GA, Jordan Thomas, Dayton, OH, Eric (Brittany) Edwards, Kenneth (Tracey) Edwards, Andrea Brimah all of Lawrenceville, GA. Seven great-grandchildren: Nyriel Wood, Tyre Wood, Evan Johnson, Taylor Fenceroy, DaVonte Barnes, Kiana Barnes, Tarrick White; Siblings: Mary Ruth Higgins, Eddie Ivy, Ossie Bell Pigford, Deacon Michael Ivy, Sheila Stephens and Morris Ivy; six bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; special nephew Jeffery Ivy; many other nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
