Rawlinson E. Barriteau born September 23,1918 in Grenada West Indies passed away July 19, 2019. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife Ada Clark Barriteau; brother Stanley and sister Evadne. He is survived by a son Roger; nieces Toni, Denise and Mary “Mickie” Hawkins; nephews Edwin (Carolyn ) Clark, Stephen, Brian, and Rudy; and several grand nieces and grand nephews.
Rawlinson “Rawl” as a boy, his mother and siblings immigrated to New York City where he graduated from the Manhattan School of Aviation Trades. He was an aircraft mechanic at Fairfield field in Dayton OH, then at the Tuskegee Air Field as an aircraft inspector. Inducted into the army in 1944 he served as a platoon sergeant in the South Pacific. He returned from the war, completed a baccalaureate at University of Dayton and had a career at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base and at the Defense Electronics Supply Center in Dayton.
Rawlinson was a member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church for over 68 years, over which he served on the vestry, was on the building committee and was an active member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew. He was Scout Master of St. Margarets' Troop 33 and was a Life member of the Fairway Golf Club in which he was a teacher in the Youth Golf Academy. He was also a Life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the NAACP.
