Angela L. Grayson

Angela Lynn Grayson, age 60, of Dayton, Ohio, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Miami Valley Hospital, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her.

Born on November 10, 1965, in Dayton, Ohio, Angela was the beloved daughter of Esther and William Grayson Jr. She attended the University of Memphis and dedicated her career to serving others as a Community Advocate with Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County. Through both her profession and her personal life, Angela devoted herself to uplifting individuals, strengthening families, and advocating for the well-being of her community.

Angela leaves to cherish her memory her devoted son, Destin Grayson; daughter-in-love, Ashley Grayson; treasured grandsons, Tyson McCormick, Aidon Grayson, and Maison Grayson; along with a host of extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Esther and William Grayson Jr., and her beloved sister, Anitka Grayson.

Angela lived her life with an open heart and a generous spirit. She will be remembered as someone who loved deeply and gave freely, whether you were one of her cherished “Sistas,” a lifelong friend, a neighbor, co-worker, community member, or someone she had only recently met. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures sharing dinners with friends, discovering new restaurants, traveling with family, enjoying annual summer vacations with her grandchildren, taking girls’ trips, and treating herself to relaxing hotel staycations. A devoted music lover, Angela especially enjoyed hip-hop and could introduce anyone to artists they had never heard before. She loved attending concerts, festivals, block parties, and community gatherings where she could celebrate life alongside others. Angela was also known for her entrepreneurial spirit, selling Park Layne jewelry with her sister, her creative talent for making crafts and decorations for parties and special events, and her famous shopping trips to Dollar Tree, where she could always find the perfect treasure.

More than anything, Angela had a passion for serving others. She believed in building community by connecting good people with one another, encouraging friendships, careers, and opportunities to make a difference. She was a dedicated supporter of causes close to her heart, including sickle cell awareness, infant safe sleep, community baby showers, and serving individuals experiencing homelessness. One of her greatest dreams was to establish a nonprofit organization that would provide essential support and resources for single mothers and their babies. Above all, Angela treasured her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil with every opportunity including McDonald’s breakfast on the weekends. Her kindness, generosity, laughter, and unwavering belief in helping others will continue to inspire everyone blessed to know her.
