Mrs. Annette Yvonne Phelps, a devoted woman of God, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born in Callhoun, Georgia, she lived a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to her family.
She was a gifted cook whose meals brought joy to many, and she took great pride in caring for her home and loved ones. She also enjoyed gardening and had a special love for flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Paul Phelps; her parents, Mrs. Gladys and Mr. Clause Chattams; her children, Cynthia Yvonne Phelps, Pamela R. Phelps, and Randal L. Phelps; and her siblings, Mrs. Geneva Reece (Calvin Reece), Silvester Chattams, Kevin Chattams, Rosie Chattams, Catherine Dillards, and Alfonso Chattams.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Donna Phelps and Paula Phelps; her grandchildren, By’ron Phelps, China Phelps, Davon Phelps, Javon Phelps, Lavon Phelps, and Tevon Ademu-John; her great-grandchildren, Lavon Phelps Jr., Kayla Phelps, Kavon Phelps, Akeila Phelps, Devon Phelps, Day’lon Phelps, Gavona Phelps, Taja’nai Phelps, Javon Phelps Jr., Aanon Sinnathamby, and Grayson Phelps; and her nieces and nephews, Rhonda Jackson, Shanda Reece, and Rodney Reece.
She will be remembered for her faith, testimony, and strength that she shared with all who knew her.
