Annie L. Brown Obituary

Annie Laura Brown, a lifelong resident of Dayton, OH, transitioned to be with the Lord on June 20, 2025. She entered this world on July 14, 1940, and made a lasting impact throughout her life, as she was a pillar of strength and wisdom to all who knew her.

Annie, (also known as Pick, Ms. Brown, and Grandmother) was not just a name; she was a nurturing daughter, a steadfast sister, and a loving mother. She worked various jobs while raising her seven children and through the struggle of single motherhood; her devotion to her children allowed her to persevere. In 1979, she purchased her house in Riverside to give her family a home and a better life and laid a foundation of what would become a core memory for her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Later, she would open her home and her heart to countless foster children.

Her life was a tapestry woven with kindness and love, leaving a legacy that will be cherished for generations.

Annie's memory will be lovingly preserved by her sister Willa Borum, her devoted sons Robert A. Brown Jr., Jeffrey Brown, and John Brown, and an array of grandchildren—each carrying a piece of her spirit. They include Kyndel Curtis, Asia Robbins, Ashley Robbins, Jasamine Brown, Anthony Brown, Stephon Brown, Stephen Brown, Brandon Brown, Lasandra Brown, Madeline McLaurin, Ronald Guy, D’Angelo McLaurin, and a plethora of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She reunites in spirit with her loving parents, Butler Borum Sr. and Susie P. Borum, along with her brothers Butler, John, and Sylvester Borum, her sisters Barbara Jean Turner and her children: Brenda (Brown) Curtis, Ronald, Donald, and Stephon Brown, as well as her beloved grandchild Ryan Brown.
