Barbara Jean Walder, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH. Barbara was born on January 24, 1938 to Hubert Sr., and Lossie Bonner in Dayton, Ohio. Barbara was a graduate of the Roosevelt Teddies Class of 1956. She retired from The Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center after decades of exceptional work.
Affectionately known as “Jean” by her family, Barbara loved to travel, shop, and spoil her village. Specifically, her grandchildren. She loved the Lord and had been a faithful member of Germantown Pike Church of Christ since 1994.
She was preceded in death by her parents; devoted husband of 55 years, David Walder, Sr.; son, Michael Hall, Sr.; son-in-law, Genie Yeldell, Jr.; grandchildren, Tammy and Michael, Jr., Hall.
She leaves to cherish her memory: son, David (Nell) Walder, Jr., Houston, TX; daughters, Karen (Daryl) Pullen, Cedar Hill, TX, Diana Yeldell, and Sonya Walder; sister, Doris Ford; brothers Hubert, Jr., and Ronald (Janetta) Bonner, Sr.; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives; and dear friends.
