Bernice Florence

Bernice A. Florence blessed the union of Dolly and William Hawkins on October 7, 1933 in Ripley, Tennessee.

Bernice moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1945 with her beloved uncle Zeb and aunt Mary Bursey. She graduated from Dunbar High School in 1951. She retired from Church’s Chicken and Rite Aid. She loved to help her children and grandchildren as well as her neighbors. Bernice opened her arms, heart and home to everyone – both family and friends.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents and children: Anthony Florence, Dolly Florence and Brenda Florence.

Bernice has left to cherish her memories and love, her only sister Charlene Cameron; daughters: Cheryl and Fonda Florence; goddaughter Portia Bernice Smith; grandkids: Fontanea Bozeman, Ebony Florence, Chante Angel, RayShawn Hunt, Rahlan Boston, Cleveland Harris, Brendan and Christian Florence; special niece Candace Cameron; nephew Wesley Cameron and niece Jacky Brown along with a host of very special great-grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends.
