Bertha L. Jackson Obituary

Sister Bertha Jackson was born on October 13, 1933 in Lorman, Mississippi. One of four daughters of the late Robert and Katsy James. Bertha was a longtime employee at the Dayton Veterans Administration Center for over 20 years before retiring. 


Sister Jackson confessed Christ at an early age and became a devoted charter member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, where she volunteered and served on numerous ministries.


She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Katsy James; her son Donald Jackson; daughter Gretchen Jackson; and two sisters Katie Stephen all from Dayton, Ohio and Delores Robinson of Grand Rapids, Michigan.


She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons Juan Mu’Min of Clearwater, Florida. Her son Kern Jackson (Janet); her devoted loving and caring daughter Tracey Jackson and loving sister Doris Ferguson all of Dayton, Ohio. Bertha Jackson lived to witness five generations of family including 10 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She leaves behind to honor her memory her dear granddaughter Nicole V. Jackson, along with many beloved relatives and dear friends.
