Bessie L. Siler was born December 8, 1937 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late John Henry and Rebecca Jones. She was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2021.
She accepted Christ at an early age. A graduate of Steele High School in Alabama, she moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1956. She retired from Dayton Public School System with 34 years of service as a Paraprofessional. After retiring she began service to the NAACP-Dayton Unit in 2004, where she rose to the position of Executive Administrative assistant to the President. She was the recipient of many accolades and awards during her careers.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Henry Jones and Rebecca Jones, two sisters Marjorie and Mary Jones.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories a daughter Angela (Larry) Jones; son Jonathan Hamilton; granddaughter Kaneisha Harris; two great grandsons Andre Wooding III and Jaquayh Andrews; three nieces Nichole Bile, Adrianne Turpin, Debra Moore and Kawana Jones all of Dayton, Ohio; great nieces Danielle Jones and Kaleetha Turpin; great nephews Jordan Jones, Kavonte Turpin and Kavon Turpin. A host of other relatives, church and NAACP family and friends.
