Bobby Martin James

Bobby Martin James was born January 22, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Thurman and Minnie James, as a child Bobby’s mother nicknamed him “The Wizard.”

Bobby Graduated from Dunbar High School class of 1966, where he made the varsity Track and Field team his freshman year. Due to his athletic achievements he was awards a full scholarship to Bowling Green State University where he obtained his undergraduate degree. He later received his graduate degree from Central State University.

After completing his undergraduate degree Bobby taught in the Dayton Public School System for several years. He completed apprenticeship for Tool and Dye Making for General Motors and moved on to become a draftsman. His skills and creativity propelled him to employment with Rockwell International to General Electric where some of his design became patent for the aircraft industry. After working in the industry Bobby came back to Education at Sinclair Community College in Mechanical Engineering and Technology where he worked for 23 years.

Bobby transitioned from this life April 18, 2021, he was proceeded in death by his siblings William Golden Rich Jr., Stella Bayless, and Betty J. Woodard. Bobby leaves to cherish his wife of 49 years Corliss (Bonner) James, daughter Rachel James, and sisters Jeanette Adkins, Virginia Allen, Beverly Bailey and a host of nieces and nephews.
