Bonnie Heard Obituary

Bonnie Jean Heard, was born October 22, 1941 to William Boles, Sr. and Leatha (McLin) Boles in Somerville, Tennessee.  Eventually, the Boles family moved to Dayton, Ohio.

In the mid-1960s, Bonnie and Robert Heard, moved to Jersey City, New Jersey, where her children were born.  In New Jersey, Bonnie worked for the US Postal Service and enjoyed life with her family. In the early 1980s, Bonnie and her family eventually moved back to Dayton, Ohio to be closer to extended family.  Bonnie was a hard worker, and a great example to her children.  She eventually retired from Woody’s Bakery.  However, even after retirement, you could find her continuing working jobs right along with her sisters and nieces before truly retiring.

Bonnie, was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt to a large and loving family.  Her family, especially her children and grandchildren, could count on her to give a word of advice on how to confidently move about in the world, to tell a funny story, and to let them know that she had their back.  She loved the time spent with her sisters and brothers, especially going shopping, going on bus trips, going to bingo; as well as watching the news and discussing events with her sisters.  She also enjoyed traveling on visits to see her daughter when she lived in South Carolina and when she travelled with her son and his family to Washington DC.

On Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at age 79, Bonnie departed this life for her eternal life.  She was preceded in death by her father William Boles, Sr., her mother Leatha Boles, her brother Mizell Boles, her sisters Sally Boles and Linda Boles, granddaughter Tessa Heard, and her great-nephew Hazey Loritts, IV.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Timothy (Deidre) Heard, Sr. of Dayton, OH, her daughters Francine Heard, and Karen Heard of Dayton, OH; six brothers William Boles, John (Claudia) Boles, Randell (Bonnie) Boles, James Boles, Thomas Boles of Dayton, OH; Charles Boles of California; four sisters Anna Toliver, Versie Hansbro, Christine Boles, and Debra Boles of Dayton, OH; seven grandsons Darryl Smith, Jr., Timothy Heard, Jr., Roscoe Smith, Octavius Peake, D’Angelo Peake, Keng Cabral, and Carlito Cabral; six granddaughters Katrina Heard, Amber Heard, Tiffany Heard, Rayven Heard, Lauren Peake, and Laurissa Peake; and seven great-grandchildren D’Airea Peake, Averyin Peake, Ava Peake, Aubrie Peake, Artavius Peake, D’Monie Peake, and Caleigh Heard; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives.  Bonnie will truly be missed.
