Candace A. Williams Obituary

Ms. Candace Andrea Williams, 56, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away quietly on June 22, 2021, after a courageous battle with pneumonia and Lupus, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Candace was born June 5, 1965, in Dayton, Ohio to Dozier and Laverne Williams, of Dayton, Ohio

Candace attended Alter High School, in Dayton, Ohio and studied at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.

She enjoyed her soap operas, especially Guiding Light and working challenging crossword puzzles. Candy loved her family, always sending gifts in the mail not for any other reason than her love for her family. She so loved her many nephews and cousins so very much.

Candy was also very politically active and passionate about politics and social issues; the election of President Biden and the first woman and African American Vice President Harris was huge for Candy and her collection of President Obama, and his wife Michelle Obama mementos were all throughout her apartment.

Candy battled health issues for much of her adult life and her courage was an example to us all. Her amazing drive to live independently notwithstanding her illness is an example for us all to follow.

She is survived by her sister Jacqueline (Robert-deceased) Embry of Cincinnati, Ohio, brothers Ralph and Robert “Mike” (Kecia) Williams of Dayton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; Rob (Brie), and Brian Embry of Cincinnati Ohio, Karsyn Williams, Dayton, Ohio, Samara Buckner of Knoxville Tennessee, Durrell Williams, and Sesha Nisdale of Madison Wisconsin and Collin Wright of Dayton, Ohio, Bettye Glenn of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Yvonne Ragin of Georgia and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dozier and Laverne Williams and sister Linda Karen Williams.
