Charles Jackson Obituary

Charles Andrew Jackson “Uncle Pluke”, age 82 of Dayton, OH was born February 17, 1939 in Harlan, KY to the late Bailey and Mammie Jackson. He was educated in his native home and graduated from Harlan Rosenwald High School. Charles worked at McCall/Dayton Press for 16 Years and Reynolds and Reynolds 20 plus years where he retired as a Forklift Operator. He was baptized at an early age and later joined Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church in 1989. He was a long-time member of the church and served as a Sunday School Teacher until 2016.

Charles was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a hard worker and great provider for his family. He was open to everyone and never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and took great pride in assisting his neighbors with their lawn work. He loved watching sports, MSNBC on television, telling stories and offering words of wisdom to make others smile. He was an avid marathon runner, bike rider, walker and crocheted daily for more than 40 years.

On Monday, July 19, 2021 Charles transitioned from this life to be in the presence of the Lord. He was also preceded in death by: (4) sisters, Frances Christian, Ida Andrews, Beulah Jackson and Elizabeth Ann Jackson; (3) brothers, Harold Jackson, Lemuel Jackson and Joe Mitchell Jackson. His sister, Kathryn Greer transitioned 2 days later July 21, 2021.

Charles leaves to cherish fond memories and to celebrate his life; his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Alma Virginia “Ginny” Jackson; (2) daughters, Nedra and Felicia “FeFe” Jackson both of Trotwood, OH; (2) sons, Elder Charles (Freddie L.) Crocheron of Cincinnati, OH and Darrell Harris of Senoia, GA; (9) grandchildren, Arden Jackson, Cahari D., Freddie T. and Jade Crocheron, Robert Callery, Keiyonda and Kerdarrius Harris, Monica Parks and Saferia White; (12) great-grandchildren; (1) brother, Bailey Jackson of Dayton, OH; (6) sisters-in-law, Margaret White of Dayton, OH; Virginia and Joann Harris, Barbara Printup, Violet Smith and Carolyn Martin; (3) brothers-in-law, William (Maxine), Kenneth (Lettia) and Randy (Tammy) Harris all of GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
