Darlyn Henderson

Darlyn Marsh Henderson was born in Dayton Ohio on September 15, 1949 to the late Rev. Hubert C. Marsh Sr and Annie Laura Marsh.

She was called home to her eternal resting place on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2021 after her most recent illness.

Darlyn accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age and was a faithful member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church until her illness recently kept her from attending church. She served in the Kitchen ministry and was a long-standing member of the choir.

Upon graduation from Dunbar High School in 1967, Darlyn entered the industry starting as a Claims Adjustor working her way up to Claims Supervisor.  She retired from United Health Solutions in 2014.

She continued her love of serving others by volunteering as an Election Poll Worker and re-entered the work force in 2019 as a Caregiver for Dynamic Senior Solutions where she had a gift of getting things done and being assigned the most stubborn and challenging clients.

Known to her family and loved ones as Dotty, in addition to her parents, Darlyn was preceded in death by her spouse of 30 years Albert L Henderson, her dear brother, Hubert C. Marsh Jr and her beloved pet Murphy.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted daughter Monica (Louis) Caldwell Jr, Timothy (Cortney) Henderson and Todd (Vanessa) Henderson; 8 grandchildren Joshua, India, Michai, Sean, Timothy III, Timia, Todd II and Avery; two great grandchildren Jayce and Jaylen; one sister Helen (Vinson) Walton, Raymond Earl (Donna) Marsh and Anthony Wayne (Renise) Marsh Sr and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Darlyn loved life and her family. She will forever be remembered for her infectious smile, her outspoken nature and her love of cooking. Although her most recent years were plagued with illness and pain, she never faulted in her desire to help and serve others.
