Demetrius Maddox Obituary

Demetrius Lee Maddox, age 65, was born July 15, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio to the late William R. and Hattie V. Maddox. Demetrius transitioned into the hands of the Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital.

A graduate of Nettie Lee Roth High School, Class of 1972; Graduate of Ohio University in 1977; pledged to SuperBees Fraternity. Demetrius held various jobs throughout his career. He did not hesitate to relocate for the betterment of his career. He resided in various states throughout his life, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, Georgia and lastly Holt, Michigan. Demetrius was employed by RSDC of Michigan for 22 years as Manager of Information Technology. He retired from RSDC in July 2019. He settled in Trotwood, Ohio until his death.

His accomplishments, to mention a few, Founder/Owner of CSS (Customized Software Systems); Cofounder and Director of TechCon Institute, a Community High School; he also received his private helicopter’s license, as he loved to soar.

Demetrius received the Lord Jesus Christ at a young age, baptized at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church Dayton Ohio. Later he supported the ministry of Exodus Ministries located in Englewood, Ohio under the Pastoral leadership of his brother, Marcus Maddox.

Demetrius embraced life to the fullest. He was a dare devil from roller coasters to flying helicopters. He loved to travel, go fishing, boating, bowling, biking and even jogging. He also embraced and loved family. He seized the opportunity to accept the role of being the Patriarch of the family after his father passed away 29 years ago. He always made plans that included the family; always shared his wisdom; always encouraged and supported their vision by any means necessary, including chastising with love.

Demetrius leaves to cherish his memory his loving companion of 18 years and caregiver Juliette Draine and her son Collin Draine; his four siblings: Linda (Dennis) Davis, Maury Maddox, Victor (Tonya) Maddox and Bishop Marcus (Pamela) Maddox and a host of other nieces and nephews; his last living Auntie, Juanella Seege; special cousins from Ohio, California and Tennessee.
