Emma “Louise” Brown was born on June 28, 1941, to Mittie Bell Woodruff and Ernest Wilson in Coffeeville, MS, and later raised by her mother and stepfather, Clay V. Freeman, in Water Valley, MS. Louise graduated Valedictorian of the Davidson High School class of 1961, and moved to Dayton, Ohio the same year to be with her husband, Walter Lee Brown (deceased).
While in Dayton, Louise worked for NCR, the Hobart Corporation, and finally retired from Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems in 2003.
Louise accepted Christ as her Savior and provider in her youth at Chapel Hill Church in Water Valley, MS. Since her acceptance of Christ, she worked tirelessly to show His love and spirit to a hurting world. Emma was a long-time member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church and affiliated with Missionary Circle 2 and the Nurse’s Guild.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Kenneth Brown, and daughter Denita (Damone) Hudson. She will always be adored as “Grandma” to her grandsons Damone “DJ” and Donovan “Donnie” Hudson, and her granddaughter Devin Hudson, all of Clayton. Louise will be forever loved and missed by her brother, Clay V. (Pete) Freeman, Jr., and sisters, Betty Lee Barr, Addie Mae Willis, and a host of family and friends.
