Ena Elfreda Fraser Obituary

Ena Elfreda Fraser was born on March 21, 1936, in Guyana. Ena accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 14. From an early age, she shared her God given gifts of teaching and compassion as a kindergarten teacher and nurse aide, touching countless lives with her gentle spirit and caring heart.

In 1990, Ena migrated to the United States, and in 1992, she became a beloved member of Summit Christian Church, where she faithfully served for over 30 years. She was known as one of Summit’s cherished Church Mothers and served as Chaplain of the Elder Board. She also took part in the Christian Women’s Fellowship and the Deborah Group and was active in sharing God’s word and hope with others wherever she went.

Ena had a deep love for worship and was a longtime member of the Voices of Summit choir, blessing the congregation with her beautiful voice. There was always a song in her heart, earning her the affectionate nickname, “The Summit Songbird.” Her favorite hymn, “Standing on the Promises,” reflected her steadfast faith and joyful spirit, always giving God praise for His goodness and faithfulness. She was also a faithful participant in weekly Prayer Meetings and Bible Studies and enjoyed reaching out to help her community and fellowship with other churches.

In her leisure time, Ena delighted in preparing delicious, authentic dishes such as curry chicken, beans and rice, and chicken noodle casserole. Ena also enjoyed spending time and traveling with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Ena Elfreda Fraser will be remembered as a strong woman of God, a source of wisdom, and an inspiration to all who knew her. Her life was a shining example of love, service, and faith.
