Era Larsean Priest was born September 3, 1934 to Elwert and Ida Mae Priest in Mouton, Alabama. Era departed this life peacefully on May 11, 2024. She accepted Christ at an early age and despite her recent health issues, she remained positive and encouraged through her faith in God. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many.
She loved cooking, singing and listening to music. She worked tirelessly helping others through her ministry of feeding the unhoused. Era's love for her family will be missed, Having a heart of gold, a very willing spirit and there wasn't anything that she would not do for anyone. She was one of eight siblings and a mother of seven children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwert and Ida Mae Priest; her daughter, Toressa Priest; her son, Maudie Priest; a granddaughter, Danetta Priest and a great-grandson, Calvin Tribble; brothers, William, James and Emias Priest; sisters, Dorothy Priest, Arunita Priest, Clydis Debardelaben and Flossie Orr; a very special nephew, Tommy L. Cowley.
She leaves to cherish in her loving memory daughters, Lois Priest and Tillisha Priest; sons, Ricky (Brenda) Priest, Velvis Priest and Gregory Priest; sister-in-law I. Jane Priest; special friend, Marilyn Hill. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.
