BARBARA ANN NICKERSON
Eva Barbara Ann Nickerson, age 88, of Dayton, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2023. She was born on March 19, 1935 in Galveston, TX to Aeron D. Belle Sr. and Olga Breaux Belle.
She was raised in Houston, TX and graduated from Wheatley High School and Dillard University. Called to the field of medicine, she was a career nurse, serving her country honorably in the United States Air Force, the United States Army Reserves, and the Dayton Public School System. Loving mother and daughter, incredible sister, trusted friend, disciple and servant, Barbara will be remembered most for her quiet strength and perseverance, her love for animals, an innate ability to put others before herself, and a willingness to always say yes to the Lord.
She is survived by her sons, Brian C. Nickerson and Michael W. Nickerson (Barnedia); her grandsons, Terrance M. Johnson, Nicholas B. Gilyot, Christian A. Nickerson, and Jordan M. Nickerson, as well as an extensive church family and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aeron and Olga Belle; her step-mother, Annetta F. Belle; her sister, Aeronita “Tex” Belle; and her daughter, Barbara Anne Gilyot.
A memorial service will be held at Maranatha Worship Centre, 4501 Wolf Road, Dayton, OH 45416 on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 11:00 am.
