Florence Elizabeth Singletary age 92, of Sugarcreek, Ohio passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, at Harbor Chase of Beavercreek. Born September 20, 1930 in Wheeling, West Virginia. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Wheeling.
Preceded in death by her husband Dr. Robert Singletary, mother Florence Coles, sister Evelyn Miller and grandson Austin Singletary.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Denise Stanford (Thomas), sons Robert (Minnie) and Maxton (Tracy) and a host of loving grandchildren and great & great-great grandchildren who affectionately called her BumBum; along with nieces, nephews and many close friends.
Florence retired from the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and was Supervisor in Nutritional Services after 26 years of service. She was also previously employed at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, New York, and North Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Florence was known for being an excellent cook, hosting many family gatherings throughout the years. She was a lover of flowers and always had a garden that was the envy of her neighborhood. She cherished all of her family and traveled to California to spend time with her beloved sister Evelyn and brother-in-law Raymond Miller, who included her on trips to Hawaii and cruises. She has supported our entire family, giving her time and unconditional love to everyone. She also leaves behind devoted friends, Eva Arnold and Helen Evans.
Florence Elizabeth will always hold a loving place in our hearts and will be deeply missed.
