Frederick Alexander McCoy passed away on August 18th, 2024 after a long and fulfilling life. He was born on February 15, 1939, in Jackson, Mississippi to Lonnie and Earnestine McCoy. The family moved to Dayton when Fred was five years old.
Fred was a hardworking man, and held several jobs during his lifetime. He retired from General Motors after many years of service.
In 1964, Fred met his loving and devoted wife, Esther and their union lasted for 60 years. Together they had five children.
Fred enjoyed spending his time working in his yard, listening to music, drinking his Little Kings and spending time with his family after retirement.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Earnestine and Lonnie McCoy; brother, Lawrence McCoy; sisters, Annie Jean Douglas and Alfastine Barnes.
He is survived by his wife, Esther, Dayton, OH; his sister, Lonzine (Cal), Dayton, OH; Five children: Anthony, Dayton, OH, Mark (Rhonda), Cincinnati, OH, Angela (Tony), Southfield, MI, Jenny, and Vie (Glen), both of Dayton, OH. 17 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, a devoted friend Eugene Brown "Geno" and a host of nieces and nephews.
Fred will truly be missed by his loved ones.
