Georgene Menefee, (Genie) was born on August 3, 1934.  She was 91 years old. 

A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin and friend.

She was called home on Thursday, April 9th 2026. 

Georgene was born on August 3, 1934 to the late Elizabeth and George Tillman.

A native Dayton resident, she attended Dunbar High School.  She worked at General Motors, in the Inland Steel Division for 30 years where she retired in 2002.

She enjoyed bowling, roller skating, and line dancing as a youth. 

Georgene was a person that everyone looked up to for guidance.  She always made sure her family had what they needed.  

Her contemporaries saw her as knowledgeable of current events, world affairs and life itself. 

She loved setting an example for others to follow. She enjoyed working in her yard and dabbling on home projects

Always attending church, she loved the Lord. She attended the Living Water World Ministries.

Georgene will long be remembered for her commitment to the church.  She was introduced to the Lord by her mother, followed and lived God’s teachings throughout her life.

Georgene leaves to cherish her precious memories: (2) daughters; Deboraha Drake, and Darlene Hewitt; a son-in law, Darryl Hewitt.  grandson, Aaron Drake, great grandsons, Aaron Drake Jr., Jaxon Drake and August Drake, great-great grandson King Drake.

She was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Tillman and father, George Tillman.

Family and friends alike will treasure her memory and the impact she had will be felt long after her departure.

Her colleagues loved her German Chocolate cake and Sweet potato pie.  A mentor and teacher, she freely shared her knowledge of current events, world affairs, and life in general.

Georgene would often offer innovative ideas to make life easier and practical suggestions on improving processes in the workplace.  She made invaluable contributions to our world and the people who knew her and loved her.
