Gerald Harrison was born on April 26, 1967, and departed this life on August 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and perseverance. Born and raised in Dayton, Gerald showed determination from an early age, holding the fastest childhood record in the 50-yard dash. He was a proud graduate of Meadowdale High School, Class of 1986, where he built lasting friendships and values. Which would carry with him throughout his life. The same drive and determination marked his adult years, both in his work and in the way he lived.
Gerald built his career as a skilled welder at DMAX, where he dedicated many years to his trade before leaving the workforce due to his health challenges. He was known not only for his craftsmanship but also for the pride he took in doing a job well. Outside of work, Gerald found brotherhood and lifelong bonds as a retired member of the Young Blood Motorcycle Club, where his loyalty, strong character, and presence left an unforgettable mark on his fellow members.
In addition to his love for motorcycles, Gerald enjoyed the peace and simplicity of fishing, as well as the freedom and energy he found in swimming. Whether by the water’s edge with a fishing pole in hand or moving through the water with strength and ease, these pastimes brought him joy, balance, and comfort throughout his life.
He will be remembered as a man of resilience, someone who faced life’s challenges with quiet strength, and who inspired others through his love, loyalty, and devotion to those closest to him.
Gerald was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Emily Harrison. He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Muriel Harrison; his sisters, Sabrina (D’Angelo) Dean, and Montrece Harrison; beloved aunts, Carmella Harrison-Anthony, Shirley (Robert) Blackmon, Beverly Harrison, Carolyn Moore, Margaret Scott, Priscilla Smith, and Mary E. Tyler; uncles, Fred Francis Green, Elbert (Ann) Harrison and Dudley (Verlinda) Paschal, great-uncle, Nehemiah Green; special niece, Ka’Lani Davidson; and cherished feline, Ping, along with a host of cousins and dear friends.
Gerald’s story is one of hard work, determination, and a spirit which will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
