Gloria Jean Young (Razor) was born July 18, 1955 in Dayton, Oh. to Al and Charlene Razor. She graduated with honors from Nettie Lee Roth High School class of 1973 and attended the University of Cincinnati where she obtained a Bachelor’s in Urban Planning with concentration in Social Planning. Gloria was baptized at an early age and was a faithful member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member of the Senior Choir .
Gloria worked in various positions within Planning and Housing Development for the City of Kettering, City of Dayton, and County Corp. She was also a private consultant specializing in Planning and Development.
Gloria (Jean) was a friend to all, and was always eager to listen to others and try to help with them solve their problems. Even as her health began to fail, she took great joy in singing, worshipping, spending time with family, traveling, and taking care of her beloved pet tortoise Boris. All the while never complaining about her health issues.
On January 26, 2021, Gloria answered God’s call and transitioned from this life to her heavenly home.
Gloria is preceded in death by her father Al R. Razor and brother Ernest A. Razor. She leaves to cherish her memory and her legacy; mother, Charlene Razor, 2 sons; William Smith, III (Nicole Gibson) and Marcus Smith (Robin Robertson) of Dayton, Ohio. 6 Grandchildren; Amya Gibson, Anthony Gibson, William Smith IV, Adrianna Robertson, Anecyia Moses, Amaria Moses all of Dayton, Ohio. 2 brothers; Richard (Robyn) Razor; David Razor Dayton, OH; 2 sisters, Linda Hayes, and Wanda (Raymond) Guy, Dayton, Oh. Special friends Cheri Curtis and Marie Gilbert. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews and numerous other relatives, neighbors, and friends.
