Gracie Mae Hunter Williams was born April 15, 1927 to the late Bryant and Minnie Hunter. She departed this life on January 29, 2023 at the age of 95. She was the youngest and a graduate of Dunbar High School class of 1945. Gracie was employed with the United States Postal Service with 20 years of service.
Gracie lived an amazing life and she lived her amazing life to the fullest, from being baptized in the river Jordan, from traveling to Stuttgart Germany to buy her brand new 1983 Mercedes Benz, traveling to Greece and walking the paths of the footsteps of Apostle Paul, to seeing the Anglican Church Westminster Abbey in London, and to be able to touch the ground of our Motherland Ghana, West Africa! Gracie was a Seamstress and an amazing watercolor and oil artist, wrote calligraphy, making her own birthday and Christmas cards. She crocheted making beautiful blankets and taught others to crochet. She to swam and ran a 5K marathon in her sixties!
Gracie is preceded in death by her husband Clifford Williams, sister Carrie Woods, brother Bryant Hunter Jr. and daughter-in-law Shari Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Glenn C. Williams, Rochelle (Rodney) Huland, Vickie (Stephen) Kirk, Robin Wynn and Marty (Sharon) Haley. Grandchildren, Salam (Aicha) Ahmed, April (Troy) Williams, Frank Demond Tipton, Tamara White, Anthony Williams, Brittney Pitts, Sheilaya (Adrian) Robertson, James McClellon, Martyse Price-Williams and Martine Williams; great-grandchildren, nephew Robb Pitts, nieces Malveena Marks, Denise Woods; devoted lifelong friends, Ms. Phyllis Prater, Ms. Mary Hyman, a host of other relatives, extended family and friends.
