Greta V. Banks, age 65 of Dayton passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020. She was born on January 4, 1955 in Huntsville, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Nettie Curry; infant son (at birth) Dorian Banks; sister, Grace Curry and brother Kelvin Curry.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Banks, Sr.; two sisters Vickie McDougald, Balava Jill Curry-Bradley; two brothers Thomas Trent Curry, Norman (Jackie) Curry; one daughter Bridgit Dozier; three sons: Larry Banks, Jr., Bryan R. Curry and Bryce R. Curry; brother-in-law, Robert (Lucille) Banks, Jr.; three sisters-in-law: Doris Banks of Aurora, CO; Juanita (Joe) Branch of Dallas, TX and Brenda Leavell of Columbus, GA.
“Aunt G’s” special loves: Arryn Dozier, Adidas Curry, Precious Williamson, Bryanna Curry, India Cokes, Brandon Curry, Bryan Curry, Jr., Ryan Curry, Grace Curry Landon, Michaela and Mich’el Banks. Special nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Dennia, DeQuasia, Jordan Taylor; Jamary, Janice, Jerone and Jason McDougald; Trentette Curry; Waliyya Aziz, Tonya Curry, Sheila Flournoy and Dana Myric. Close friends: Kaye Wilcox, Judy Williams, Crystal Jarvis, Pam Cawley and Tywanna McDade.
Her special cousin Peggy Ann Warner along with a host of relatives from Huntsville and other places in Alabama and Massillon, Ohio.
She was a proud Roosevelt Teddy. Greta had great love for family, cooking and seeing everyone get together.
Greta was an active member of her community where she made a difference as the President of DMHA Metro-Wide Council.
She will be missed dearly.
