Harriet Anita Wilson - Walton, age 65 was born in Dayton Ohio to the union of the late Solomon M. and Ceola Wilson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Wilson, and nephew Kareem Anwar Brown.
At a very young age, Harriet accepted Christ at the Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served in the Junior Choir, Sunday School, and Usher Board. She later joined in fellowship with Joshua Christian Ministries.
Harriet graduated from Nettie Lee Roth High School, Class of 1975. During her time in high school, she obtained her cosmetology license which began a professional career as a cosmetologist that expanded over the next 40 years. She was the owner/founder of “Beauty of Grace” and “Inspire” Hair Salons.
Harriet was a caring daughter, sister, aunt, and wife. She was fierce protector over her family and especially her mother whom she cared for with love and patience. Harriet cherished the special relationships she had with her sisters and always wanted the best for them. She was their biggest cheerleader. Her nieces and nephew were the joys of her life, and she made sure she was a part of every big moment in their lives giving them love, support and fashion advise.
On August 31, 1996, Harriet was united in holy matrimony to Dennis Walton and was married over 20 years. She loved Dennis with all her heart, and they enjoyed many happy years together traveling throughout the world. Harriet also loved to shop, dance and most of all, just being with family.
Harriet was a Fashionista Show Stopper and will be remembered for her kind and giving spirit as well as the classy lady everyone loved and respected.
She loved the Lord and even during her sickness, Harriet never lost her faith nor her praise. If you knew Harriet, then you know how much she trusted the Lord in her daily walk and could often be heard saying “Daddy is going to fix it”. She did not fear death because she knew what waited for her on the other side. She is now free and healed as heaven has gained another angel!
