Helen Anderson, 88, of Dayton, Ohio peacefully transitioned to be with her Heavenly Father on August 13, 2024. She was born April 4, 1936 in Tiptonville, TN, the daughter to the late Geneva and Jack Turner.
Helen grew up in Tiptonville, TN and graduated from Lincoln High School. She enjoyed sports and cheerleading.
Preceded in death by her daughter Deborah Anderson and survived by her daughter, Clarissa Anderson, four sons Edward Anderson, Harold Anderson (spouse Debra Anderson), Clarence Smith and Roger Anderson. In addition to a host of grandchildren and Phyllis Gibson, a dear family friend.
Helen Anderson faithfully attended Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio for over six decades and served as a dedicated member, usher, trustee and Head of Kitchen Services. She was employed in the Culinary Industry as a Caterer, Cook and Facility Housekeeping services.
Helen will remain forever in our hearts as a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, godmother, friend and devoted steward of faith. She had a gift for cooking and loved baking her delicious, much-loved signature favorites, cakes and pies. She loved traveling and spending time with her relatives. She never missed an opportunity to play cards with family and friends. We all knew her favorites: bid whist, tonk and spades. Helen loved and cherished her family, grandchildren, and her many friends and always showed many acts of kindness.
Helen’s devotion, boundless love and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. The sole matriarch of a vast loving family. Her legacy of warmth, compassion and cherished memories will continue to inspire and comfort us to sustain her legacy to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
