James T. Lawson “Terry” departed this life unexpectedly on Friday, February 16, 2024. He was born to AJ and Flora Lawson on March 13, 1947 in Mayfield, Kentucky.
Terry was a graduate of Xenia High School in Xenia, Ohio, and an army Veteran. He attended the Dayton Art Institute and studied art at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio/. Terry was an exceptional canvas and graphic artist. He was a truck driver for the Dayton Daily News for 30 years.
In his passing, he leaves his wife of 52 years, Sheralyn Lawson, his son, James T. Lawson II, his brothers, John Lawson, Jeff (Genotric) Lawson, Arthur Lawson, Martin (Erika) Lawson, sister Stephanie Jones, nieces Kim Byas and Angela Crawl, “adopted” son Scott Brooks and other family members and friends.
