Janet Sue Story, age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026, surrounded by family, love, and comfort. Born on March 2, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio, Janet was the beloved daughter of Charlie and Dollie Story, who along with her sister Regenia Story preceded her in death and welcomed her home in Heaven.

Janet was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, known for her warm heart, enormous strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to live on through her family and all those blessed to have known her. Janet is lovingly survived by her children, Brandon and Darnell Edmond; her eight cherished grandchildren, Jabraee, Daion, Davontay, Damarion, Shariah, Savanah, Natallee, and Lilyanah Edmond; and her loving sister, Pamela Story Davenport (Harry).

The name Janet means “God’s gracious gift,” and to all who knew her, she truly embodied that meaning. Janet was a beautiful soul—divine in spirit and a blessing from God—whose life touched everyone she encountered. She possessed a rare gift for making others feel safe, valued, and deeply cared for.
