Jermaine Dexter Gales Obituary

Jermaine Dexter Gales, age 51, was born on July 3, 1972 in Dayton, OH. He was the only child of Anna E. Gales and the oldest child of the late John Tann. He departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, November 12, 2023 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Jermaine confessed to Christ at an early age. He was a member of Phillips Temple CME Church, where he married his children's mother Summer Lowe. He was a graduate of Colonel White High School in Dayton, Ohio.  He attended and graduated from a trade school majoring in HVAC in Dayton, OH.  Following graduation, Jermaine began his career as a facilities supervisor for Richard Allen Schools in Dayton, OH.  Jermaine decided later that he would move his family to Raleigh for better job opportunities working in his field of study.  There, he supervised a crew of twenty facility managers.  After several years working in that position, he and his wife moved the family to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates where they lived for ten years. He then returned to Raleigh, North Carolina, working in the same field until his death.  Jermaine was a devoted father, a strong force, and a great provider in his children's lives. But also, an easygoing and free spirit who enjoyed his job. If you put a hammer and a screwdriver into his hands, he could make things happen. He enjoyed watching a variety of sports.

Jermaine was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Waverly and Nannie B Gales, John Tann Sr, Aunt Mary Lucille Gales, and Uncle Ronnie Ray Gales.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons; Trevon Gales, Dayton, OH, and Brandon Gales, Raleigh NC.; three daughters, Ravyn (Martin) Beriloux of Osaka Japan, Jailyn, Gigi, and Mons’e Gales of Raleigh, NC,  grandson Lukia, Dayton; mother Anna Gales, Grandmother Helen Tann, three sisters Devona Glenn, Nicole Heard-Johnson, and Michelle WilliamsJohnson all of Dayton, OH,  three uncles: Waverly (Bettye), Nicholas, and Jerry (Carolyn) Gales, two Aunts: Barbara Allman, and Sylvia Gales, (Dayton, OH) eight nieces, one nephew, a host of first and second cousins, other loving family members,  and friends.
