Jesse “Billy” Leworn Kirby (Snakebite) 80, of Dayton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
He was born to Jeffie Briscoe & Daniel Kirby in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. He graduated from Marion Anderson High School in Brinkley AR.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his brothers Garland Daniel “Sonny” Kirby, Lowel (Mann) Kirby, and sister Eva Osborne. Jesse was a semi-truck owner and operator for more than 55 years. Work included RW Service Systems, Jet Express, Asbury Trucking, and Englewood Towing & Recovery.
Jesse leaves to cherish precious memories, his devoted loving wife and best friend of 49 years Shirley Kirby, children Kevin Kirby (Nola) of Toledo, Juvaun Kirby of San Diego, Cheutaunia Dodd, Shirlynn Kirby, Jeffery (Tiffany) Powell all of Dayton, Timothy (Tracee) Powell of Denver. Brothers Jackie (Jewell) Kirby of White Hall AR., John Robinson Kirby of Enterprise, AL., and Dannie Kirby of Chicago. Sisters Lela Holmes, Mary Barnes both of Chicago, Latacus McCraney, Mary Kirby both of Pine Bluff, AR. Qulistine Walker of Reno. 9 Grandchildren Jessica Kirby of Columbus OH, Brittani (Maurice) Armstrong, Briyonna Caldwell, Tiara Long, Desmond (Tank) Smith Jr, Darryn Powell, Dorian Powell, all of Dayton, Alexander Powell of Denver, Airron Powell of San Diego. 11 Great-Grandchildren, Antonio, Josiah, Savanna, Kyra, Breylon, Maurice(MJ), Kassius, King, Dior, Daylen, Sabastian, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special Family includes Francine Durgans, Charlene Johnson, Marqus Harris, and Lamar Hawkins.
