JoAnn Donaldson Obituary

Jo Ann Donaldson, of Dayton Ohio, departed this life on February 25, 2022. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama on December 17, 1939 to the late Horace and Mary (Mack) Bowins. She was a proud graduate of Roosevelt High School and attended Sinclair Community College. She worked in the Payroll and Accounting Department for many years for Dayton Walther and MW Metals.

In 1963 Jo Ann was married to the late Willie M. Donaldson and to that union was born son Bryan and daughter Nicole.

She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for many years where she served on the Usher Board.

Jo Ann loved her family and friends. She was proud to be a member of the Nightingale Social Club which encouraged young ladies to be involved in positive community activities. She loved to cook and entertain family and friends at her home for all holidays and celebrations

Jo Ann peacefully transitioned from earthly life to eternal life, met with the Lord, her parents Horace and Mary Bowins, husband Willie Donaldson, sister Betty Bowins Cathy Moore and nephew Cory Moore.

Survived by son Bryan (Michelle) Donaldson, daughter Nicole (Bob) Palmer, 8 grandchildren: Mackenzie Donaldson, Ithiyl, Chislon, Yahziyl, Qowlayah, Malkiyl, Yibniyah and Wazzala Palmer. One great-grandchild Hadiyah McNeal. One brother Horace Bowins Jr. Two sisters Rebecca (Frank) Williams, Mary E. Bowins , Loving niece April Bowins. Host of niece nephew, cousins and friends.
