The Life of Jon Darnell Moreland

Age 61, native of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026. Born June 1, 1964, to the late Melvin D. Moreland & late Jayne Marie Moreland. Preceded in death by his grandparents, John & Madie Harris and Sammy & Cora Moreland. Jon grew-up in a large family surrounded by love. He graduated from Wilbur Wright HS in 1982 and later in life received his associate's degree in HVAC/R from Rets Technical Institute. Jon was a devoted husband, father and family man who loved fiercely.

Jon was an avid Cincinnati Bengals fan. He had a love for all things sports related and competitive. Jon was inducted into the Wilbur Wright Hall High School Hall of Fame for Football, Basketball & Baseball Ball. He was always admired by many for his grilling and baking skills. Jon was employed for 9 years at VineBrook Homes of Dayton before becoming ill.

Survived by his wife of 30 years Sandi L. Moreland; Children - Kory (Stephanie) Moreland, Brittny Smith, Allen "Mykey" Moreland, J'uan Moreland & Mariah Moreland; Sisters - Melissa Russell and Valerie (Joel) Harris; Brother - Victor (Velerie) Moreland; 8 Grandchildren - Baylee, Whitney, Lillian, Joseph, James, Remington, D'Luana & D'Lorres; Host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Special cousin LaTonya (Ronald) Rowland. Special friends Larry (Pete) Smith, Eric Lewis & Mark Smith.
