Kenneth (Dumpy) E. Evans, Jr. of Dayton, OH passed away on December 9, 2021. Kenneth was raised in Washington Court House (CH) and settled in Dayton, OH in 1966.
Kenneth was born in Ironton, OH on August 20, 1940 to parents Kenneth E. Evans, Sr. and Helen Hortense (Bailey) Evans. He graduated from Washington High School in 1958 and enlisted in the United States Navy. He attended Central State University for a year upon discharge from the United States Navy then entered the industrial workforce.
Kenneth married the former Ms. Dolores J. Seldon in August 1963. Kenneth worked many years at the National Cash Register Corporation (NCR) in Dayton, OH. Kenneth began employment with Defense Electronic Supply Center (DESC) in Kettering, OH in the late 1980’s and retired from DESC in the early 1990’s.
Kenneth was inducted into Washington High School Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2012 for his achievements in football and track. Kenneth attended Rodgers Chapel AME Church while growing up in Washington CH. and was member of New Commandant Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton.
Kenneth was a proud Navy Veteran and enjoyed playing golf at the former Madden Hills Golf Course in Dayton. He was a devoted Cincinnati Bengals, Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns Fan.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Dolores and his children Eric (Zina) Evans; Vincent (Maria) Evans, Sr.; Dawn Sewell; Special Daughter-in-Kind Angela Vaughn; eight Granddaughters; three Grandsons; two Great Granddaughters; and two Great Grandsons.
