Lillie Mae DeanThompson, age 90, of Dayton, Ohio, peacefully passed away on July 10, 2025, surrounded by love. Born in Madison County, Georgia, Lillie Mae lived a life marked by compassion, humor, and unwavering devotion to family and community.
She was a nurturing mother, raising five children, and a proud grandmother to 21 grandchildren, along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her home was a place of joy, comfort, and the irresistible smell of her home-cooked meals—always open to anyone who needed love, laughter, or a warm plate.
Lillie Mae worked at the General Hospital in Athens, GA, where her care for others shone brightly. Known for her kind heart, contagious laughter, and giving spirit, she welcomed anyone in need. She gave freely, loved deeply, and lived selflessly.
She is survived by her siblings George Martin, Shirley Martin, and Leroy Martin; her children Harold Martin, Samual Dean, Jimmy Dean, Selene Mack, and Gloria Dean; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will carry her love forward.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Nellie and Sanders Martin, and several cherished siblings who have since passed on before her.
A special thank you to her devoted aides, Twyla, Elizabeth, Debra and Buddy whose care, compassion, and companionship brought Lillie Mae peace and comfort in her final chapter.
Services will be held at H.H. Roberts Funeral Home on July 18, with a viewing from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, and the funeral beginning at 1:00 PM.
Her love lives on in all who were blessed to know her.
