Loretta Washington Obituary

Loretta “Doll Baby” Washington, was born January 2, 1956, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose Washington, she went to be with the lord on March 9, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.  This Transition did not take place before she left her mark on the world. Her legacy was “Home”.  She provided every ingredient to create a safe, warm, and loving place for anyone who entered her presence.  She was a devout employee at Kettering Convalescent Center for her entire working career.  She was a faithful and devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Xavier L. Johnson, D. Min.

Loretta, also known as “Maw Maw” and “Doll Baby.” The entire neighborhood called her “grandma,” however, she was cherished as “Doll”- a name she represented well.  Doll enjoyed being with her family, raising her kids and all her nieces and nephews, cooking, playing Pokeno with friends, and attending church. She is preceded in death by her two nieces Charnae Hunt and Tae’lor Kingsman, her nephew Leon Smith, and dearest friend Gloria Bronson.

She leaves to cherish her memory children Lashonda (Samuel) Hoskins, Mark Washington, Nikki Edmonds, Ashley Washington, Jay Washington and Dewon Edmonds; sisters Shirley Washington, Arnell Miller, Gwendolyn (Michael) Lake and Tomorrow Washington; her only brother Jeffery Washington; grandchildren Darona Edmonds, Ambra (Andrew) Evans, Samuel Hoskins Jr., Dewon Edmonds Jr., Tiashane Washington, Marquashia Washington, Aisaiah Washington, Amarria Washington; special friend Judy Tanner, and a host of nieces, nephews, and great grands.
