Luther Chattman, Jr. (affectionately known as Buddy) was born in Harlan, Kentucky on April 22, 1941 to the late Luther, Sr. & Minnie Pearl Chattman and gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
The Chattman Family moved to Dayton, Ohio in the late 1950’s. Luther joined Mount Olive Baptist Church at an early age and served as an usher in his later years. In 1959 he graduated from Roosevelt High School and then began his career at General Motors - Delco Moraine where he was employed for 41 years, retiring in 1991.
His passion was the Cleveland Browns! AND he was a proud member of the Browns Backers. You could always see him in Browns Gear, win or lose.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, Luther, Sr. and Minnie Pearl Chattman; daughter Anita Chattman; siblings - Kathleen Chattman, Daniel Chattman and Annie Bursey. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Robena; his sons L’Amour and Mark Chattman; grandchildren - Randall (Chanae Reid) Barber, Mark Chattman, Jr. and Chris (Miranda) Shepherd; great-grandchildren - Maurianna Barber, Nicholas Barber, Robert Harding, Kamrien Parker, Keannah Shepherd, Jazmine Shepherd, Christianna Shepherd; his siblings - Willie (Cozella) Chattman, Cynthia (John) Hayes, William (Clarice) Chattman, Bettye Chattman; Special friends - Charles Fields, Donald Jackson, Al Williams and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
