Margaret Spearman

Margaret Spearman departed this life October 3, 2021 at age 93 at home with her family and Hospice care aide. She was at peace when the angels came to take her to the heavenly home where she could be reunited with her beloved sister, Evelyn, mother, father, brother, son and loved ones.

Margaret was born to the late Charles, Sr. and Mary Humphrey in Dayton, Tennessee. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was an active member of the Postal Workers Retiree Union. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and on the Missionary Team which she served up until her health no longer permitted.

Margaret was honored several times for outstanding contributions to the community. The Mary Scott Nursing Home award included dinner with actor Clifton Davis.

Preceded in death by her husband, Leslie O. Spearman. She leaves to celebrate her life: daughters Janice Williams and Yolanda "Elaine" Patterson; Son Leslie G. Spearman (LaShonda); Nephews: Ralph McGinnis Jr., Ronnie Humphrey (Beverly); Nieces: Darlene Davis (Ricky), Brenda Peters (Daniel), Celeste Pickett, Rene Planer (Stephen); extended family and special friends: Charlene Humphrey, Barbara Ponder, Dora Hamilton, Melissa Goetschius; Caregivers: Yevene Humphrey and Faustine Humphrey;  7 Grandchildren; 11 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. A host of special friends, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 1 Diamond Avenue, Dayton, OH 45403 on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Family will receive friends one hour before service. MASKS REQUIRED & LIMITED SEATING.  Interment: Dayton National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be donated to Muevelo Cares Inc. who assists cancer patients locally. P.O.
