Martha A. Nimock Obituary

Martha Agnes McGowan Nimock was born December 3, 1922 to the union of Hardy and Etta Lane McGowan, wherein she was born with her identical twin sister in the city of Memphis, Tennessee.


As a young woman, she moved to Dayton, Ohio and undertook training to become a beautician. Agnes, as called by her loved ones, practiced this trade for more than 70 years.


Agnes served faithfully in three churches after moving to Dayton: Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and lastly Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church. At Mt. Enon, Agnes worked with the Pastor's Aide, where she served under the leadership of Deacon Ivory Suesberry.


She leaves to cherish her memory twin sister, Mary Gladys Wilson, Ventura, California; daughters Jonell Nimock, Evanston, Illinois and Helen Nimock Carpenter, Dayton, Ohio; Son, Evangelist Joe N. (Annette) Nimock DeSoto, Texas;  Granddaughter,  Keana U. Price (Billy), Evanston, Illinois; Grandson, Billy Carpenter, Dayton, Ohio, loving and devoted nieces Annie R. Hope, Memphis Tn, and Carolyn Harris Carthage,MS and nephew Charles Williams, Dayton, Ohio.


 Ms. Agnes was preceded in death by her loving husband Joe N. Nimock Sr.,  her beloved brother-in-law Major L. Nimock, Dayton, Ohio, beloved granddaughter Tawauna L. (Charles) Averette,Trotwood, Ohio, Godson Bobby (Barbara) Cleveland,and sister-in-law, Dora McKee, Detroit Michigan. Agnes leaves to mourn sister-in-law Claire A. Meeks, Detroit, Michigan. In addition, Martha Agnes leaves 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who will long cherish her loving memory.
