Mary "Darlene" Henderson was born March 14, 1942, in Berea, KY, and departed this life on December 28, 2022, at the age of 80.
She was the youngest of six children born to John Fee and Adelia (Bowman) Moran. At an early age she was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Berea, KY. She later became a member of Corinthian Baptist Church of Dayton, OH.
She graduated from Berea High School in 1961 and later attended Berea College until she met the love of her life in 1963.
On August 17, 1963, she married Donald Henderson of Dayton, OH. From this union, they became the proud parents of 3 beautiful daughters.
Mary worked 31 years at General Motors until she retired in 1999. There she was given the nickname ‘“Proud Mary.”
She loved spending time with family and entertaining close friends. She enjoyed making people laugh.
Darlene's greatest joy, outside of her three girls, were her three grandchildren.
Darlene was known for being a fashionista. She loved to shop.
Mary (Darlene) proceeded into eternal life after her parents, John F. and Adelia Moran. Mother-in-Law: Katherine Henderson. Brothers: Albert, Douglas, and Paul Moran. Her precious daughter: Donyale Y. Henderson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Donald Henderson. Daughters Kiva Henderson and Joya (Carlton) Sykes. Three Grandchildren: Cyrus, Chase and Ca'More Sykes. Sisters: Audrey Brooks and Francis Baxter. Her in-laws: Veltra Moran, James Henderson, Peggy (Henry) Johnson, Francine Mullins, Jeff (Rosemary) Seitz. She has numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Her dear friends: Shirley (Jack) Jackson, Juanita (Lucian) Huguely. Family-in- Love: The Thornton family, Athena Johnson, Nead and Dyan Walker, The Stringer family, Evelyn Bonner, Ann Jackson, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
