Michael Allen Maxwell affectionately known as “Little Mike” and “Maxwell” by friends and family, was born on June 16, 1954, in Fort Knox, Kentucky to the late George Allen Maxwell and Lula Bell (Vail) Maxwell. Michael departed this life unexpectedly on Monday, June 16, 2025.
Michael graduated from Roth High School in 1972 and immediately joined the United States Navy where he served as an USS Ranger.
He received commendations for his service including the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.
Throughout his life, Michael found joy in general contract work and shared his love of cooking both professionally and for his friends and family. An avid football fan, he was dedicated to his favorite team, the Chicago Bears. Though he often appeared quiet, Michael had a great sense of humor and delighted in pulling pranks and sharing jokes with those he loved.
Michael is survived by his daughter Katina (James) Webb and his grandchildren, James IV and Celeste Webb. He is also survived by “his sisters” Dianne (Marvin) Brown, Cheryl (Bishop Ted) Willis, Monica (Ben) Foster, Carolyn (Lester) Troutman, and Angela (Anthony) Clements; special friends James Birch and Nate Young; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Michael's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His humor and passion for life will be deeply missed.
