Michaele Thomas Obituary

Michaele Camille Thomas (Lewis); beloved wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend unexpectedly departed this earthly life to her home in glory on November 11, 2022, at the age of 53.

Michaele was born June 16, 1969, in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from  Chaminade Julienne High School, Class of 1987; attended Oklahoma City University; graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor in Communications and Antioch College with her Masters of Special Education and was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Throughout her life; Michaele continuously gave back to the Dayton Community. She was the co-host of “Kids Club 22” from 1989 until 1992. She was the co-owner of the Michaele-Peters Institute of Dance from 1985 until 2006 and was the current Co-Director of Praise Dance at College Hill Community Church. Her love for dance and education moved her to become a Special Education Teacher until her retirement in 2019. Michaele always smiled when she greeted anyone in any room, adored Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas which she showed through hats, home decorations and gifts to others. She loved the fall and winter, but would give it up for a beach on a good day! She made you laugh and think through her inspirational messages and she knew all the dialogue to “The Wizard of Oz”; she was Dorothy always wanting the best for everyone she met as she was traveling “Home”.  She was such a fan she named her dog Toto.

Michaele was preceded in death by her brother; Brian Frederic Peters, great-grandmother; Estella Carson, grandparents; Gilbert Thomas, Frank and Charlie L. Peters and aunt, Diane Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory: wife; Krista K. Lewis, mother and father; Brenda Joyce and Daniel Peters, grandmother; Barbara J.
