Remembering Minister Ronald Garrett: A Life of Faith and Service
Minister Ronald Garrett, a beloved servant of God and a steadfast pillar of his community, entered eternal rest on April 4, 2026, at the age of 59. His life was a testament to unwavering faith, dedicated leadership, and profound compassion.
A Foundation in Christ Ronald’s life was firmly anchored in the Gospel. Driven by a deep desire to understand God's Word, he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Ministry with a specialization in Pastoral Leadership. This academic achievement laid the groundwork for a lifetime committed to spiritual teaching, counseling, and leadership, profoundly shaping his ministry.
Embodying the Word Minister Garrett not only preached the Word but embodied it in his daily life. His personal journey—marked by internal struggles that ultimately led to a surrender to God’s grace—became a powerful testimony. He often reminded others that God’s strength is perfected in our weakness, inspiring many to find hope and resilience.
His quiet strength, compassionate spirit, and deep faith resonated in every interaction. Whether delivering sermons, offering prayers, or providing spiritual guidance through life's challenges, his mission remained consistent: to reflect the love of Christ in all he did. He faithfully served as a Dedicated Shepherd at Zion Baptist Church, offering comfort, biblical wisdom, and hope during difficult seasons, guided by his intimate walk with God.
Legacy and Family Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, Minister Garrett leaves behind an enduring legacy of kindness, integrity, and unshakeable faith. He taught all who knew him that a life built on the "Solid Rock" can withstand any storm.
He is survived by his loving children: Ronald L. Garrett Jr., Rapheal Garrett, Geron Garrett, Raymond Garrett, Deron Garrett, Ebony Melson, Ashley (Tyreese) Casey, and Courtney Robinson. He also leaves two devoted sisters, Irene Alexander and Sharron Harris, along with a host of grandchildren, relatives, friends, and believers whose lives were profoundly touched by his ministry.
Minister Garrett was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald L. Garrett; his sister, Tinika Humphrey; his mother, Rosa Scott; and his father, Robert Garrett.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
